Prompt:
GREAT GRAND- Tell a story about any Great Grandparent in any generation in your lineage. The theme of your story is the pursuit of Greatness.
When we hear the word “great,” we often think of accomplishments, titles, or fame. But in family history, greatness shows up in quieter ways: the strength to start over, the courage to dream, the daily persistence to care for others and carry on. Sometimes, our great-grandparents left records of those efforts. Sometimes, we find it in what they passed down—in spirit, in values, in resilience.
This challenge invites you to tell the story of one great-grandparent—any generation, any branch—through the lens of greatness. What did they strive for? What shaped their choices? How did their pursuit of something larger than themselves leave a mark on their life, their family, or even you?
Let your definition of greatness be personal. It could be tied to a big moment or a quiet truth. This is your chance to reflect on what one ancestor taught you about what it means to live with purpose, strength, or vision.
