In Lynda’s post, “Grandma’s Pumpkin Pie,” she takes us on a journey through the history of a beloved family recipe. Rooted in her grandmother’s creativity, this heirloom recipe was handed down in the generations to Lynda. Her eloquent story of a family tradition and it’s evolution, told through the simplicity of a recipe paints a beautiful picture of her family’s history.

Lynda writes:
I’ve been a writer ever since mom gave me that Girl Scout diary back in 6th grade. Growing up I had lots of penpals from all over the world, and later in life taught others how to journal (or what I called Heartwriting) and also how to write their story. Through my newspaper column I found my voice in art and created a popular dyeing technique. My interest in genealogy hit me nine years ago, and I spend a lot of my time between the dye studio and my genealogy research. Meanwhile I’m a wife, a friend, a cat herder, picture taker, and iris lover. As with my art, I hope this newsletter will inspire you.
