Genealogy Storytelling

Cynthia Boatright Raleigh

Author of Genealogy Storytelling

Cynthia is the author of the Perri Seamore genealogical mystery series, including Poison Branches, Buried Roots, and Drawing on the Past—a trio of novels that weave research, suspense, and family history into compelling narratives. She’s also the creator of the Lanthorne Ordinary Witches historical-supernatural series (Summoning the Winds and Sister of Wales), and the true-crime title The Kneeling Corpse Murders: Leslie “Mad Dog” Irvin.

Her book Dinner is Announced: Recipes Inspired by Murder Mysteries blends her love of storytelling with culinary creativity, offering a delicious companion to her mystery-writing world.

On Substack, Cynthia writes at Genealogy Storytelling, where she explores family history in a narrative style that brings archival research to life. Her Buckfoot Gang series, in particular, has captivated readers with its richly detailed look into Midwestern criminal history—told through a genealogist’s lens.

Here are the links to Cynthia’s Substack and collection of books.

Meet the GenClub Panel:
